It’s official. Dontnod Entertainment has confirmed the release of the long-awaited sequel to the award-winning graphic adventure game, Life is Strange.

Life is Strange 2 will be the third entry in the series and the second game to be developed by Dontnod since the original. It will feature a 5-part narrative adventure with the first episode scheduled to be released on September 27, 2018. The game will introduce a new set of characters and will take place in a different timeline which is three years after the first game.

During E3 2018, Dontnod announced a new and free-to-play graphic adventure video game titled “The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit.” The game introduces us to the character of an imaginative 10-year old boy named Chris, who pretends to be a superhero that is called Captain Spirit. He lives with his father, Charles, a man who struggles after the death of his wife. To escape reality, Chris uses his imagination and goes on fantastical adventures as Captain Spirit.

According to the game’s description, the free demo set will contain links to the brand new story and characters of Life is Strange 2. With that said, we can expect that Chris will be the protagonist of the game.

Dontnod explained that the creation and development of “The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit” is the result of their wish to expand the Life Is Strange universe. Directors Raoul Barbet and Michael Koch both collaborated with writers Jean-Luc Cano and Christian Divine to mold a new story and create new characters.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit was created using Unreal Engine 4, with Dontnod developing new a new facial and physics animation system to enhance the game, and designed original assets. Director Barbet also revealed that the game was inspired by Japanese anime series Saint Seiya and Sailor Moon. The game was released on June 26, 2018, or Microsoft Windows PCs and gaming laptops, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

On the other hand, Dontnod hasn’t released any further details about Life is Strange 2. So for now, fans can only wait until they decided to reveal more information about the game on August.
