Fans of the beloved Metroidvania video game, Hollow Knight, will be pleased to know that its developer, Team Cherry, has officially announced its sequel to the public.
According to the developers, the sequel will be called Hollow Knight: Silksong. As Team Cherry explained, the game was initially made as a DLC, but as they dove into Hornet’s new adventure in a new land, the game became too large and unique for a DLC.
In the game’s official website, Hollow Knight: Silksong takes Hornet, the princess-protector of Hollownest, into a vast and unfamiliar world. Alone, she must battle enemies and seek out allies while trying to solve the mysteries to help her ascend to the kingdom’s peak.

The sequel will also feature a new suite of powerful attacks which Hornet must master throughout the game. She will also be able to learn new silken abilities as well as craft deadly tools to aid in her battles.
Team Cherry also confirmed that Hornet will have to face over 150 new foes, which includes beasts, hunters, assassins, kings, monsters, and knights.
Similar to its predecessor, Hollow Knight: Silksong will feature traditional 2D-style gameplay, illustrating gild cities, lakes of fire, and misted moors in exquisite details accompanied enchanting soundtracks composed by the award-winning composer, Christopher Larkin.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released for Microsoft Windows gaming computers, Linux systems, and Nintendo Switch consoles. Further platforms may also be added in the future.
