Stunlock Studio’s Battlerite Royale is now officially free-to-play.

The MOBA brawler game has gone out of its Steam Early Access last February 20 and has now moved into its free-to-play structure. The news came alongside the release of the game’s “BIG PATCH,” an update that brings three new champions on its roster, two new gaming areas, and new regional objects added to certain parts of the map.

The new champions to be included in the game are:

  • Oldur – is a mysterious creature that can bend time and space, with abilities that can heal wounds with his magic and reverse enemy attacks by freezing time.
  • Taya – also known as the tornado summoner, is an exceptional swift hunter that can shape the wind around her to help her increase her speed and control her boomerang with deadly precision.
  • Pearl – is sage with a powerful ability to control the oceans and whatever creature that lives in it. She can use water for her volatile attacks, protect herself with bubbles, and create rejuvenating streams.

While the two new areas are the Frozen Plateau and Trade’s Islet.

The BIG Patch also includes the Battle Pass System, which can give players a Free Pass and the option to upgrade their account to Premium Pass to unlock exclusive cosmetics. Players will also be able to purchase the Legendary Adventure Pack 2, which includes a new mount.

According to Stunlock Studios Marketing Director Johan Ilves, they know that their community has been looking forward to the free-to-play launch of Battlerite Royale for months. And with the BIG Patch included, both the Arena and Royale players can expect a lot of new features in the game, taking the Battlerite universe to a whole new level.

Battlerite Royale was first introduced as a new game mode to Battlerite in May 2018, but it was developed as its own spin-off that players could purchase for Early Access. Its original game, Battlerite, was released for Microsoft Windows gaming PC on November 7, 2017.
