The Lovecraftian-inspired mystery thriller video game titled The Sinking City has been delayed from its original March 21 release date to June 27.

The game’s developer Frogwares studio has made the announcement last March 9. According to them, the reason why the game’s release date was pushed back to three months was because of its currently full launch window.

As explained by Frogwares community manager Sergey Oganesyan, the decision was made because the studio wanted to release The Sinking City in a less crowded time frame. With so many great games coming this March, the studio believed that it will be a wiser move to delay the game’s release.

Oganesyan also explained that the studio will use the additional time to continue further developing and optimizing The Sinking City, as to enhance the gaming experience it will offer to its players.

Furthermore, this will also allow the studio to further market the game and show people what sets it apart from other mystery-thriller games in the market.

For those of you who haven’t heard of the title, The Sinking City is a mystery adventure game set in a damp and misty town of Oakmont, Massachusetts during the 1920s. In this game, the player controls a private investigator who travels to the city searching to cure his creeping insanity.

The Sinking City will be released on Microsoft Windows gaming PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gaming consoles. It is set to arrive on its new release date, June 27, 2019.
