CD Projekt Red confirmed that their upcoming sci-fi action RPG video game Cyberpunk 2077 will feature three unique playable origin stories. Players can choose from one of these three different origin stories, each featuring a different starting location for the character.
In an interview with VG247, the game’s lead quest designer Pawet Sasko explained that the system is called “Lifepaths.” According to him, in Cyberpunk 2077, the player can create a custom character that has one of the origin stories: Nomad, Corpo, and Street Kid.
Each of these Lifepaths has a different starting location as well as story background, which are strongly connected with the origin story.

For example, choosing one of these Lifepaths will place your character in the Badlands as a starting location. The Badlands is a barren wasteland which surrounds the Night City, so probably this Lifepath belongs to the Nomad.
Although CD Projekt Red didn’t further discuss the description of the other starting locations. It’s easy for fans to speculate about it. For example, it is sensible that Corpo characters will start in the corporate district of Night City. On the other hand, those who chose Street Kid may begin in the slum areas of the capital.
Whatever it may be, CD Projekt Red promises that the Lifepaths will play an important role in the Cyberpunk overall story.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be released on April 16th next year, for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
