Austria-based video game company THQ Nordic has made several announcements about their games. These announcements include the development of a new Saints Row game, the development of Dead Island 2, and an update about TimeSplitters.
Let’s talk about the first news. According to the company, the first full Saints Row game since 2013 is currently being made by Volition and is now in deep development. We probably could finally take a glimpse of it within this year if everything goes as planned. The new Saints Row game will be a welcome return to the series after Agents of Mayhem.
The second one is about Dead Island 2’s development. UK studio Dambuster will now take over it, making it the third studio to handle the long-awaited sequel. For those who didn’t know, it was Specs Op: The Line developer Yager who started the development of the game. It was then turned over to Sumo Digital, which worked on the project since 2016. It is unknown whether all the work Sumo has done for it will be passed on to Dambuster Studio, or if they will have to start from scratch.
Dead Island 2 still doesn’t have a release window. But THQ Nordic confirmed that the zombie-survival game will be released for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Xbox One and PlayStation consoles.
Last but not least is the news about TimeSplitters. It seems that the company has decided to once again to develop a new game under the series. In fact, one of the series’ creators, Steve Ellis, has joined the team of developers to help plot the future course for the franchise. However, there is no indication of how long the studio would take to develop the game and introduce it to the public.
