CD Projekt Red finally confirmed the multiplayer mode of their upcoming sci-fi action-adventure RPG game, Cyberpunk 2077. The announcement put an end to reports that the multiplayer mode is still in its development phase.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be released in April 2020, with a single-player campaign as a start. But its developers announced that the multiplayer mode will be added sometime after its post-launch.

The announcement came via a tweet on CD Projekt Red official Twitter account. The post stated that as they are getting closer to launching the “single-player” Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020, they would like to confirm that the multiplayer mode is currently in the works.

The studio further explained their plans with the game. For now, CD Projekt Red aims to deliver Cyberpunk2077 in April, then follow up with free DLCs, single-player content, and later on invite players for some multiplayer action.

As of now, no further details were released as to what the multiplayer mode will look like. It could either be a combat-based match, a battle-royale, or a shared online world similar to GTA Online.

CD Projekt Red also confirmed that the whole game, including its cutscene, will be in the first-person perspective.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be released for Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows gaming PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
