Netflix’s Narcos Turns into a Video Game

Gamig PC Video Game Inspired By Netflix's Narcos

It’s confirmed — the Netflix crime drama based on the life of Pablo Escobar titled Narco will be adapted into a tactical turn-based strategy video game.

The game is called Narcos: Rise of the Cartels, and is currently being developed by Kuju and published by Curve Digital. Its gameplay follows the events of the first season across two campaigns. The player can either choose to side with the Medellin Cartel or to side with the DEA and stop the drug empire from growing.

According to its developers, Narcos: Rise of the Cartels will operate slightly different from other turn-based strategy games. In this title, enemy units will move at the same time the player units take their actions.

Several characters and locations from the drama show will also make an appearance in the game, and some of the confirmed ones include El Mexicano, Murphy, and Primo. Each of these three characters has their own class-specific roles and perks as well. The game will also include an option for the player to upgrade the skills of these characters.

Narcos: Rise of the Cartels is scheduled to be released this 2019 on gaming PC via Steam.

The show, Narcos, on the other hand, was a Netflix biographical crime drama that ran for three seasons and aired from 2015 to 2017. It was then rebooted by Netflix in 2018 and released it as a new series titled Narcos: Mexico on November 16, 2018.
