Infinity Ward announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will come with a crossplay feature. That means that CoD players on PS4, Xbox One, and gaming PC can all play together in online multiplayer. And it was also revealed by Infinity Ward that it will be a highly-customizable feature that includes a choice to opt-out if desired.
Infinity Ward explained the full detail of the new feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As stated, players can choose whether to opt-in or out as to whether they would want to engage in crossplay. By opting in, the game system will let you match up with friends who play Modern Warfare on different consoles.
The developers also explained that the players will need a CoD account for the new feature. This account will allow players to form cross-platform parties and a friends list.

The crossplay mode will also allow players to choose what controllers to use when they play CoD, and what controllers they play against. The highly customizable feature comes with a filter matchmaking so players can join controller-only lobbies or keyboard-and-mouse-only lobbies. Players can also choose games with no restrictions on controllers at all. Infinity Ward designed this feature to avoid controller advantage.
And to ensure crossplay parity, Infinity Ward confirmed that the new feature will support all multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare.
The developer also announced that new multiplayer maps, modes, and special ops will be released on all platforms at the same time.
