The horror-puzzle game DARQ has released a free DLC last March 6. The DLC serves as a gift from the developers to fans who have supported the game since it was launched last August.
DARQ made it in the headlines last year when its developer, Unfold Games, decided to turn down an Epic Games Store exclusivity deal from Epic Games. Nonetheless, the game became successful, and gamers love its artistic visuals and creative plotline.
The new DLC that was released for DARQ was dubbed The Tower. It was added for free as appreciation to fans who supported the game since it was revealed. According to the game’s director, Wlad Marhulets, it offers about 30 minutes of new content.
Marhulets further explained why he turned down the Epic Games offer. He said that three days after sharing the game’s trailer and its launch date, an Epic Games representative approached him and offered him the exclusivity deal. However, he didn’t like the idea of pulling the game from its Steam launch right after announcing that it would be released through Steam. And doing so would ruin his and his company’s reputation, considering that he is a first-time developer.
DARQ is a horror puzzle game that revolves around the story of a boy named Lloyd, who tries to survive in a nightmare and find a way to wake up. It was released for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and for Linux and Macintosh PCs.
