Riot Games has officially revealed its upcoming 5v5 character-based tactical FPS game, VALORANT. The game is expected to be launched this coming summer in most regions.
VALORANT is a free-to-play game that requires precise skills, lethal gameplay, high stakes, and clutch gameplay, which rewards creative gameplay styles. The game pits two teams consisting of five players against each other to win a round-based, attackers versus defenders, best of round 24 rounds gunfight.
In VALORANT, the players can choose from a diverse cast of hypernatural and battle-ready agents coming from real-world cultures and locations. Each of these agents brings a set of unique abilities that complement gunplay through tactical information and strategic support, which changes the players’ approach in each situation. Their abilities are also designed to create tactical opportunities for players to take the right shot.
According to Riot, VALORANT is developed and designed to perform on a wide variety of gaming PC hardware, welcoming global audiences to compete.
In fact, Riot has invested in the best-in-class technical back-end to support the game. This includes dedicated 128-tick servers for, a custom-built net code, server authoritative game architecture, and propriety anti-cheat prevention.
Riot also said that they are committed to preserving the core tenets of the tactical shooting genre and upholding the competitive integrity of its gameplay.
