Ubisoft released the first in-game footage of the latest Assassin’s Creed game, Valhalla. Microsoft showcased the video footage as part of May’s Inside Xbox presentation.
The game engine trailer features a minute and a half video that showcased Valhalla’s game-engine snippets. Some of these snippets hinted longship combat, beach raids, and siege warfares. One of the notable scenes was the Vikings approaching the Saxon Castle along with a battering ram to break down the castle doors.
Valhalla Game Director Ashraf Ismail said that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will allow its players to assault giant fortifications as part of its epic battle gameplay and siege warfare. He also explained that players can also choose to forge alliances with kings, which suggests a political choice system.
Ismail also noted that Valhalla will feature a different combat system compared to all its predecessors. One could say that its combat system has been reinvented to be visceral and brutal, delivering a different gaming experience to the players.
Valhalla is the latest entry in Ubisoft’s long-running video game series, Assassin’s Creed. It takes place during the Viking Age, focusing on the Norsemen invasion of Britain.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla follows the story of Eivor as he leads his people to the four kingdoms of England. It will be released for Windows gaming PC, Xbox One, Xbox X Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Google Stadia.
