Larian Studios has finally confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available for Early Access this coming August 2020 for Google Stadia and gaming PC via Steam.
According to the studio, the August 2020 Early Access release date will push unless there will be any significant delays caused by the current global situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is the latest installment in the Baldur’s Gate series based on the Dragons and Dungeons tabletop RPG game. Players can also create one or more characters in the game to form a party with them along with computer-generated characters.
However, unlike its predecessors, Baldur’s Gate 3 will feature a turn-based combat system similar to the Original Sin games.
And as stated earlier, Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access will only be available on Steam and Google Stadia. But Stadia owners will get some exclusive features.
According to Larian Studios, some of the Stadia features will be specifically built around the community in decision making. For example, someone watching your game can actually affect the dice, for instance.
As Larian Studios put it, someone watching your game’s live stream can change the outcome of your decision even if they are from a thousand miles away. They also noted that Stadia has been planning for the developers to implement ideas like this. We’re not entirely sure how this feature actually works, but we’re sure Larian Studios will further explain it in the future.
