CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077’s release date will be moved from September 17 to November 19. The delay is caused by the current global situation due to coronavirus.

The news came via a letter posted in Cyberpunk 2077’s official Twitter account from Marcin Iwinski and Adam Bawonski, the studio’s founder and head. According to the two, they want to release the game once it’s ready and completely done.

According to them, they want Cyberpunk 2077 to turn into a game that will stay with the gamers for years to come. And this goal will only be possible if they spend more time to further improve the game.

However, Iwinski and Bawonski confirmed that the game’s content and gameplay are finished, including its quests, cutscenes, items, and skills. But with great content comes a complex system that they need to iron out to deliver a balanced game mechanics. The extended time will also allow them to fix more bugs.

The good news though is that CD Projekt Red will offer a free next-gen console game upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. This means that users who purchased the Cyberpunk 2020 for their PS4 or Xbox One will also be able to get the game if they decide to buy the next-gen consoles. However, the developers didn’t announce any release date for the game’s next-gen console version.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a sci-fi shooter game that takes place in a dystopian open-world setting. The player controls the protagonist named V, a customizable mercenary augmented with cybernetics. Players can upgrade his cyber augmentations and machinery to improve his skills and combat. It is possible to choose V’s gender, depending on your preference.

As stated earlier, Cyberpunk 2077 will be released for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
