Developer Larian Studios has announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 early access release won’t be happening this month. In June, they said that the game might be released in August, but it seems that they were affected by the delays caused by the current global pandemic situation.
In a Twitter post published on Larian Studios’ official account, Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t be released in August. However, it is just around the corner. And its release date will be announced this month.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is the upcoming RPG video game based on the tabletop role-playing game, Dungeons and Dragons. It will be available in Microsoft Windows gaming PC and Google Stadia.
According to its developers, Baldur’s Gate 3 will feature both a single-player and cooperative multiplayer mode. The players will be able to create one or more characters in the game. They can also form a party with them and other computer-generated characters to explore the game’s story. Players also have the option to take one of their characters and team up online with one or more of their friends to form a party together.
The game was first announced during PAX East 2020. Larian Studios also confirmed that unlike the previous Baldur’s Gate games, Baldur’s Gate 3 will feature a turn-based combat system similar to the studio’s Original Sin games.
The game will be based on the fifth edition of Dungeons and Dragons ruleset. Although, according to Larian Studios, it will include tweaks and modifications that the developer found necessary in translating the ruleset into a video game. One of these changes include the combat system, which will be more in favor of the player than in the tabletop version. The game will be based on the fifth edition of Dungeons and Dragons ruleset.
