An upcoming action-adventure RPG video game titled Black Myth: Wukong has been making rounds on the internet. It started when a 13-minute gameplay video was uploaded by its developer, Game Science. Many were impressed by its gameplay footage and graphics, and many gamers have shown interest in the game.

Black Myth: Wukong is a game based on the classic Chinese tale titled Journey to the West. The game was announced for gaming PC and consoles. As seen in its gameplay footage, the game features a vibrant environmental art style created from Unreal Engine 4 and a soul-like approach. Experts also noticed its net stealth mechanic in which Wukong turns into a cicada to avoid bigger threats.

The 13-minute alpha gameplay footage features the game’s exploration, combat, stealth, and boss battles. It also includes a montage of different environments and a giant battle.

Many gamers online were impressed since it was developed by an indie studio. Some also noted that the announcement of Black Myth: Wukong has gotten more attention than other AAA games that were announced.

In fact, on the first day the gameplay footage was uploaded, it garnered over 4.6 million views on the Chinese video streaming website Bilibili alone.

Its developer, Game Science, hasn’t given any release date for the Black Myth: Wukong. According to them, their development team is currently very small. And that they have used the early announcement to attract new talent to the studio that can help them build the final version.

Game Science also confirmed that Black Myth: Wukong will only be released once the studio is satisfied by the end product. It also seems very likely that the developers are aiming to release the game for next-gen consoles, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
