Mojang finally announces the Caves and Cliffs Update for Minecraft. According to the developer, the update will arrive in 2021 for gaming PC and consoles. It will add some significant improvements to the game’s cave and underground exploration system. Mojang also confirmed that the update will bring a more spectacular mountain generation to the game.

During the 2019 Minecon Live, the Mountains won the biome vote, and Mojang worked on updating the biome. The update is designed to make the Mountains biome a much bigger part of the game’s world. Aside from the mountain generation, the new update will also feature snow traps, mischievous goats, and a few more updates.

The Caves in Minecraft will also include new features, including lush caves, crystal geodes, dripstone caves, and many more. There will be different blocks to be introduced in the game, along with some new mobs that players will encounter in the biome.

Some of these new blocks are the Sculk Sensor blocks, which emit redstone signals. This enables players to build amazing contraptions as a wireless redstone. There will also be stalactite and stalagmite blocks present in the game. These are spiky blocks that come with different mechanics, including increased fall damage if the player lands on them.

Underground caves will also bring new things to the game. For example, there will be a new copper ore that players can use to craft a new lightning rod block. There will also be crystal geodes, which will be harder to find but can be used to craft a telescope.

The new mobs, on the other hand, will be introduced in the game like the Warden. These are the hostile mobs that are well adapted to the dark caves with an ability to react on movement instead of the things they see. There will also be Axolotls, which are adorable cave-dwelling water creatures that can aid the players in battle.
