Arc System Works finally announces the release date for Guilty Gear Strive. The game will launch on April 9, 2021, for gaming PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The game will be playable for players who own Guilty Gear Strive Deluxe or Ultimate Edition starting from April 6, 2021.
The Guilty Gear Strive release date was announced along with a new trailer, which stated that Guilty Gear Strive will bring a fresh start for the series. The series first started with Guilty Gear in 1998, which was released for PlayStation.
Guilty Gear Strive features a fighting game that boasts a striking visual style with its hybrid 2D/3D cell-shaded graphics. It will also have a fully voiced story mode, which is said to bring the story of Guilty Gear to a close — a story that spans over 20 years. Guilty Gear Strive will also feature new characters in the game, joining fan favorites. There will also be a robust, rollback net code.
The game was first announced to be released this year, but it was moved to 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Guilty Gear Strive will include playable characters including Anji Mito, Axl Low, Chipp Zanuff, Ky Kiske, Faust, May, Sol Badguy, Potemkin, Millia Rage, Nagoriyuki, Giovanna, Leo Whitefang, and Zato-1. IGN also reported that Ramlethal Valentine will be returning to the series through Guilty Gear Strive. Ramlethal Valentine is a female fighter who specializes in controlling mid-range. She also uses two swords as her primary weapons carried by her Luciferos partners. There will also be five characters that will join the roster as part of the DLC.
The Guilty Gear Strive is the seventh and final installment of the Guilty Gear series. The developers confirmed that Guilty Gear Strive will be a completely new game from the others. The game will be released on consoles and PC in April 2021, while its arcade version will be distributed by Sega Interactive.
