Smite Reveals New God Tiamat

Smite Tiamat

The god-themed MOBA game, Smite, has revealed a new diety coming to the game through a cinematic reveal trailer. And the gaming community are hyping about the new deity because it is the first Babylonian god to be introduced in the game.

This new Babylonian god is Tiamat, the primordial goddess that symbolizes chaos and primordial destruction and creation. In Babylonian mythology, she’s described as a colossal sea serpent or dragon. According to her story, Tiamat is the goddess who gave birth to the first generation of deities who killed their father, the god Apsu. Enraged, she declared war against her children and took the form of a massive dragon.

As seen in the reveal trailer, Smite will feature Tiamat as a dragon goddess with a serpentine body of shifting colors and designs. And as much as the trailer wants to see, it seems that she is very powerful as she can take down Cthulhu, whom Zeus is having a hard time battling with.

We also get a glimpse of Gilgamesh, another upcoming god who will be released this year, and Tiamat. As Tiamat offers Zeus a new world shaped into her vision, Gilgamesh appears to head against her.

As of the moment, there are no details about these two gods’ abilities. However, Hi-Rez Studio, the game’s developer, explained their roles in the game. Tiamat will be a bruiser and will have a playstyle that should focus on diving through clashes and tanking damages for her team members. It is also revealed that Tiamat will have the ability to summon battles to aid her.

Gilgamesh, on the other hand, will be a frontline god that can take on Tiamat. His skill kit is said to feature slashes, grapples, magical artifacts, and dropkicks.

Tiamat will be released as a playable god in February 2021 as part of Smite Season 8. If you’re interested in playing Smite, you can download the game for free on your gaming pc  via Steam.
