As stated in our previous article, Genshin Impact has finally released its 1.5 Update. And in this update, we see the return of Zhongli’s Event Wish Banner – Gentry of Hermitage. Zhongli was first introduced in the game around December of 2020. At first, players weren’t exactly excited about his in-game abilities, saying that he’s short of nothing but support. But Mihoyo updated his skill abilities, which made him one of the famous 5-star characters in the game.
Zhongli is a 5-star Geo Polearm user who happens to be the personification of the Geo Archon Rex Lapis. After forging a contract with the Cryo Archon and Szhenaya’s Fatui, Zhongli gave up his Gnosis and decided to continue living as Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Consultant.
In the game, Zhongli has an elemental skill called Dominus Lapidis. Upon pressing, Zhongli summons a Stone Stele that lasts for 30 seconds, dealing AoE Geo Damage at its creation. This Stone Stele deals AoE Damage every 2 seconds. When holding this skill, Zhongli causes Geo energy to explode, which deals AoE Geo Damage and creates a shield of jade to protect him. Then for his Elemental Burst, he has Planet Befall, which allows him to bring a falling meteor down to earth. This deals massive AoE Geo Damage to his opponents and applies Petrification which turns his enemies into stone for a few seconds.
So what’s the best artifact to build a Zhongli? Here’s what we think:
Build 1: 2 pcs Noblesse Oblige & 2 pcs. Archaic Petra
- 2 pcs. Noblesse Oblige will give Zhongli’s Elemental Burst Damage +20%.
- 2 pcs. Archaic Petra provides Zhongli with a 15% Geo DMG Bonus, perfect for his Elemental Skill Dominus Lapidis.
- When it comes to Artifacts Stats, equip Zhongli with artifacts that give Crit Damage, Crit Rate, Atk%, HP%, and Geo Damage.
Build 2: 4 pcs. Retracting Bolide
- 2 pcs. Retracting Bolide increases the effectiveness of Zhongli’s shield by 25%. While adding another 2 pieces of the same artifact will give him an additional 40% Normal and Charged Attack DMG while he has his shield.
As for the weapons, we highly recommend that you go for the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear or the Vortex Vanquisher. These are both 5-star weapons. However, suppose you don’t have these two. In that case, you can opt for the 4-star weapons Deathmatch, which gives additional Crit Rate, or the Prototype Grudge, which increases his Energy Recharge, allowing you to spam his Elemental Burst.
