Just make sure that the new upgrade is compatible with your motherboard.
2 – Download Steam.
Once you’re sure that your current PC specifications meet the requirements of Elden Ring, the next step is to download Steam on your gaming PC. This is because you will need the Steam launcher to be able to buy, download, and install the game.
If Steam is not yet installed on your gaming PC, follow these steps to download the software:
- Go to https://store.steampowered.com/
- On the screen’s upper right corner, click on the small green button that says “Install Steam.”
- You will be prompted to another page with a large blue button, “Install Steam.”
- Wait for the file to be downloaded.
3 – Install Steam.
Once the Steam launcher file has been downloaded, the next step is to install it on your gaming PC. Read the instructions and follow the install wizard to completely install the Steam launcher on your gaming PC. This will take a few minutes.
Once Steam has been installed, you need to log in to your account. If it is your first time using Steam, you need to create a Steam account. To create an account, follow these steps:
- Go to https://store.steampowered.com/
- Click login.
- Click the Join Steam button.
- You will be prompted to a page that will ask for your email address and country of residence. It will then verify your email address.
- Check your inbox for any verification email Steam sends, and click the link to verify your Steam account.
- Once your email has been verified, Steam will prompt you to its Create Account page. Fill up the following details:
- Steam Account Name
- Choose Password
- Confirm Password
- Click Done.
Once you have your Steam account, log in to the Steam launcher.
4 – Download the Elden Ring.
Search for Elden Ring in the Store tab once your Steam launcher is up and running. Once you’re on Elden Ring’s game page, scroll down and search for the box that says Buy This Game. You then have to click the green button, “Add to Cart.” Follow the prompt page and buy the game.
After you have purchased the Elden Ring, the game should be found in your Game Library. You can then download the game after allocating the disk space on your PC. The Steam launcher will ask you which drive to install Elden Ring on. Take note that you need up to 60GB of free disk space to download the game. So free up some space for the game.
5 – Download Settings.
If the game download isn’t starting, you can adjust Steam’s settings to fix this issue. Navigate to your Steam settings. You can locate the Steam launcher on the Main Menu. Click on Steam, then go to Settings.
Find and click the Download section, then change the download Region to another location close to you. Make sure to disable any VPN that is currently running in your system. Once done, try to redownload the game in your Steam Library.
6 – Install and Play Elden Ring.
Since Elden Ring requires up to 60GB of free space on your hard drive, the download time may be longer than most usual games. The length of the download time depends on your internet connection, and disk write speeds. Once it is finished, go to the Steam library and launch Elden Ring. You can either launch the game here or create a shortcut desktop icon for the game. An installation will appear, which will only take a minute or two. The installation will be done automatically when starting the game for the first time.
