HoyoVerse, the developer behind Genshin Impact, has set the release date for their upcoming update. Genshin Impact 2.8 update titled Summer Fantasia will be released this Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Check out the new trailer below for the latest update.

Upcoming Character Banners
In this latest update, a new 4-star Anemo character named Heizou is coming to the game. He will be featured in the first phase of the update as part of Kazuha and Klee’s returning banners.
Heizou, as seen in the video trailer above, is a catalyst user. He will also be the first melee character featured in the game. So we’re still unsure if his build will lean forward to his Elemental Damage or his Physical Damage.
For phase 2 of the update, Yoimiya will make a return with her banner, “Tapestry of Golden Flames.”
Genshin Impact 2.8 Events
Genshin Impact 2.8 will release several events, including a new Summertime Odyssey featuring Fischl, Kaedahara Kazuha, Mona, and Xinyan. According to the news, this will be the main event of the new update. The event is called “A Summer Sea Sojourn.” It will feature a reward event currency similar to the Shiny Flotsam in 1.6.
One of the rewards in the game is a new outfit for Fischl, called “Ein Immernachtstraum.” It is a ceremonial outfit for Fischl. Aside from Fischl, Diluc will also get a new outfit called “Red Dead of Night.” This is one of the outfits Diluc wears during covert actions. It resembles a flame dancing in the shadows. Diluc’s will feature new idle animation, effects, and backstory, unlike previous outfits.
Additionally, the game will feature the Resonating Visions and Reminiscent Regiment events. These events will be accessible in the Golden Apple Archipelago. There is also the Hidden Strife event which will take players to the Dawn Winery. Here, the Traveler and Paimon notice something from the past that might threaten the place.
A new story for Kaedehara Kazuha will also be added in the update. There is also a new hangout event to feature the new character Heizou.
