Red Bull Battle Grounds Atlanta

The Red Bull Battle Grounds in Atlanta will take place July 11-13, featuring a tournament of 128 StarCraft players.

Red Bull has launched its full tour of competitive StarCraft events which will hold its preliminary rounds in Atlanta and Detroit with finals in Washington D.C. on September 20-21.

The competition will be styled by splitting the 128 competitors into groups of 4, creating 32 separate pools. The top 2 from each pool will then continue on to to compete in a top 64 Bracket. Each player surviving the first round of the top 64 Bracket will receive a cut of the $25,000 prize pool and the Top 16 will receive their split of the cash as well as a share of 4000 WCS points, which they will need to compete in the WCS Global Finals at Blizzcon. The winner of the final BO5 showdown will earn an invitation to the Red Bull Battle Grounds Grand Final event in Washington, D.C.

The prizes are listed as follows:
1st $8000, 750 WCS points & paid trip to the Battle Grounds Grand Finals – 9/20-21.
2nd $4000, 400 WCS points
3rd/4th $1700, 375 WCS points
5th-8th $800, 250 WCS points
9th-16th $400, 125 WCS points
17th-32nd $200

With this year’s open registration, several have been offered the opportunity to play alongside the pros in an attempt to earn their spot at D.C. Last year, the Battle Grounds championships was won by PartinG, and was followed up by sOs. The top 2 competitors last year will continue to compete at the Grand Finals it D.C. this year along with the Top 5 competitors and 1 wild card competitor in the competition.

Team CYBERPOWERPC will be also helping provide our Custom Black Zeus Mini I-770 powered by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 Graphics Cards. The PCs will run on 4th Ggeneration Intel Core i7-4790K quad-core processors with Hyper-Threading Technology for the fastest capabilities currently on the market. As the tournament continues on, it becomes more and more exciting to watch the pros click in anticipation. Whether they’re rookies or not, competitors are going to be sure to give it their all in the upcoming months.
