Detective/Mystery/Adventure games air fairly underrepresented in the pool of games for both PC and consoles. With the exception of the Batman Arkham Series, we don’t often get to see detectives in action figuring out typical crimes.
Although the scenario in The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is anything but “typical” – it is a detective game that puts a bit of a spin on things.
The game sets up with you, Paul Prospero, as a detective searching for answers surrounding the disappearance of Ethan Carter. If this sounds boring as of now, there’s a twist: You get to talk to ghosts. Porspero’s supernatural abilities to contact the spirit world to help solve his mysteries should make game interactions much more engaging and emotional.
Though little is known on what the game will be about, we know that the game hits PC starting September 25 and is set to be released on the PS4 later. What are your thoughts on mystery games for PC?
