In July 2010, Valve introduced a freeware multiplayer top-down shooter video game where players must eliminate waves of aliens.
This year, Valve releases the newest video game in the series titled Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop. Developed by Reactive Drop Team, the game will extend the original Alien Swarm, introducing new maps, aliens, game modes, and guns. It will also feature a Steam Workshop support.
The game will thrust players into an epic bug hunt, introducing a unique gameplay that blends co-op play and squad-level tactics. Together with your friends, form a squad of four up to eight players, and plan your attack against the aliens using its top-down perspective. You can also use an unlockable arsenal of weapons that include countless loadout configurations that fight against a wide variety of aliens.
Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop will feature new co-operative campaigns, as well as challenges. It will also allow modifications similar to Left 4 Dead 2. Aside from that, players can now join in PVP battles such as Deathmatch, Gun Game, Instagib, and team Deathmatch. It will also feature the single-player mode where players can play with improved bots on all the official maps.
Lastly, the game will introduce new aliens to watch out for. This includes the aliens known as “HL2 antlion guards.”
And with new aliens comes new weapons. Alien Swarm: Reactive Drop will feature new and advanced guns to combat the enemies including the Desert Eagle, Devastator, Combat Rifle, and much more.
