Amazon Studio New World Delayed to August 2021

It’s been confirmed that Amazon’s upcoming MMORPG game for gaming pc, New World, has been delayed from Spring 2021 to August 31, 2021. The news came via a development update posted on New World’s official website.

According to the developers, one of the main reasons for New World’s delay was the compelling end-game features which they believe are important to include in the game’s launch. Since last year’s game preview, the team also stated that they have polished New World’s combat system. They also added quest variety, armor variety, and expanded weapons. The developer also included fishing, expanded the map to add a new region on Reekwater. The crafting system of the game was also overhauled. New features were also added in New World’s mid-game and end-game content.

The New World’s Alpha Test will continue in the months to come. Amazon also plans to expand the testing by including the EU servers starting on March 31, 2021. The game’s closed Beta Test will also start on July 20, 2021, and anyone who will pre-order New World will gain access to the closed Beta.

According to Amazon, the Closed Beta Test of New World will let its players explore the Ebon Scale Reach, which is the new end-game zone located in Aeternum. Players will be able to try playing the five-player Expeditions mode. They will also experience the 20v20 Outpost Rush and other game modes as well.

New World was first announced in September 2016 during the TwitchCon along with Breakaway and Crucible. The game was initially scheduled for a May 2020 release. However, due to the pandemic and other factors, the game was now pushed for an August 2021 release. New World is a massively multiplayer online RPG that features an open-world set in the mid-1600s. In this game, players are tasked to colonize a fictional land filled with mysterious creatures and landscapes.
