Bioware just ran its closed alpha for its upcoming action MMORPG video game Anthem last weekend, December 8 and 9. The registration for the alpha game ended on December 3.

As announced by EA, the alpha game was part of EA’s Community Playtesting program and was made available for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, PlayStation 4, and XBox One. As typical for any alpha games, it tested out the game’s features such as its matchmaking and server loads.

However, EA made it clear that the alpha game registration won’t be tied or connected with Anthem’s pre-orders or to EA Access. Players who pre-ordered the game, and have EA Access or Origin Access will be able to access the pre-launch demo game which will be playable starting February 1.

Anthem is set to be launched on February 22. And its developer confirmed that the game will feature post-launch story content or DLCs, which will all be released for free.

According to the game’s Executive Producer Mark Darrah, he wants to give a “complete package” to the buyers. This means that Anthem will release it as a full game, and added DLCs will soon follow to include additional features and storyline to the game.

Anthem has been one of the most awaited games of 2019 since its trailer was released and gained the attention of gamers due to its contiguous open world system. In this game, players will take on the role of Freelancers which uses fully customizable exo-suits called Javelins to explore an open world setting. There will be four types of Javelins that will be featured in the game including Ranger, Colossus, Storm, and Interceptor. The game is said to feature both a single-player and cooperative multiplayer elements. The player can build a squad up to four players, and fight savage monsters together.

The full game is scheduled to be released on February 22, 2019.
