American video game company Respawn Entertainment was thrilled to announce that their team-based battle-royale shooter game, Apex Legends, has hit the 50 million-players mark a month after its release.
The news came via Twitter and was posted by Apex Legends official account. “Apex Legends hit the 50 million players worldwide,” the tweet reads. “We are humbled by your support and can’t wait to show you what’s next.”
The numbers are the total sum of players and users who have downloaded and played the game on PC, gaming laptop, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4. Regardless, whether the user has played only one match or a hundred.

Alongside the tweet was a brief video that stated a list of statistics that the game has reached in one month. This includes the 158 million finishers that have been used, the 31 billion pings that have been placed, 170 million respawns, and 1.23 million ultimate skills that have been activated.
Critics have said that the milestone was entirely expected, considering that the game has already reached 25 million players a week after it was released. And that wasn’t all, in fact, Apex Legends has brought in a million players in less than 8 hours and then reached 10 million players in its first three days.
It was considered an overnight success, and quickly overshadowed the release of Bioware’s Anthem even though little was known about the game before it was revealed.
For those of you who haven’t tried Apex Legends yet, it is a team-based battle-royale shooter game from Respawn Entertainment. The game was released last February 4 for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
