Ubisoft has finally revealed the latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed video game series through an announcement trailer. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features a Viking-themed open-world setting that takes place during 9th century England and Norway.
According to the game’s description, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will let you sail across the icy North Sea to discover and conquer the four kingdoms of England. It will allow players to immerse themselves in activities such as hunting, fishing, and even engaging in traditional Norse competitions such as flyting.
Valhalla follows the story of Eivor, a Viking raider who aims to lead his people out of Norway and into the broken kingdoms of England. This means that it will have naval combat and settlement features similar to Assassin’s Black Flag.
Building a settlement in Valhalla depends on how you spend your time in-game. Certain choices can also affect how it will grow. Thus, according to Ubisoft, the settlement feature is one of the game’s core experiences.
The naval combat allows Valhalla’s Vikings longship points. In this game, Eivor can lead his people on ship raids to gather resources.
The developers explained that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features gameplay that leans into the player’s choices in the game. Valhalla features added new character customization options and important dialogue choices.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is scheduled to be released this holiday season on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox X Series, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows gaming PC. It will be launched exclusively on the Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store, Google Stadia, and UPlay+.
