Astralis have done it again — they are the 2018 ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier champions, and it wasn’t even close. On Sunday, they simply outclassed Team Liquid in the grand finals, winning 2-0 to secure themselves the title and a whopping $500,000 of the $1 million prize pool.

The Danish team finished with a perfect 8-0 map record, absolutely steamrolling the competition. The only team that even took Astralis to overtime was Cloud9, but unfortunately for them, they finished the tournament winless and with the worst round record of all teams.

And so with Astralis already winning their first encounter against Liquid during the tournament, Astralis were heavily favored to win it all. They delivered. They came out guns blazing on Inferno, jumping off to a ridiculous 14-0 round lead and essentially sealing the game before Liquid could even get on the scoreboard.

Though Liquid tried to fight back, winning several rounds in a row, it simply wasn’t enough. Astralis finished off map one with a dominating score of 16-5, with star players Emil “Magisk” Reif and Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz leading the way.

Map two on Nuke was definitely more competitive, with Liquid actually taking the lead at one point 11-10, but Astralis again showed why they’re the number 1 team in the world. They came storming back, and with dev1ce top fragging, Astralis won by a score of 16-12.

With yet another title, Astralis continues to sit atop the CS:GO competitive throne, and next month’s DreamHack Masterse Stockholm will give Astralis yet another chance to add onto their already long line of success.
