Initially announced to be released on June 22 this year, Turtle Rock Studio announced that Left 4 Dead spiritual successor, Back 4 Blood, has been delayed to October 12, 2021. But no need to sulk — there will be an Open Beta for fans to try Back 4 Blood this summer.
This news was announced by Turtle Rock Studios on Twitter. According to the development team, they need a bit more time to develop Back 4 Blood to be the best game it can possibly be once it’s launched. With all things considered, Turtle Rock decided that they will release Back 4 Blood on October 12, 2021. They also thank the fans of the game for their continued support. The development team also talked about their excitement to share the game’s Open Beta this coming summer.
Back 4 Blood is a next-gen cooperative first-person shooting game from Left 4 Dead creators and was first revealed at The Game Awards 2020. Its gameplay shows a homage to the Left 4 Dead series and features even more zombies alongside some larger ones. The game’s whole look made fans of Left 4 Dead refer to Back 4 Blood as its spiritual successor.
Unlike Left 4 Dead, though, Back 4 Blood features a card mechanic where players must build a deck to take into each level. These cards are broken into four categories, including Brawl, Discipline, Fortune, and Reflex. These cards will give you bonuses, but there will also be corruption cards in the play that will make the journey more difficult for players.
As stated earlier, Back 4 Blood will have a new release date set on October 12, 2021. It will be published for Microsoft Windows gaming pc, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
