Bioware Finally Gave a Sneak Peek to Their Upcoming Sci-Fi Video Game Anthem

Bioware, the creator behind Mass Effect and Star Wars: The Old Republic, has a new sci-fi game in the making. And just last week, they finally gave us a sneak peek of this third-person MMO shooter game called “Anthem.” The game lets you strap into an exo-suit equipped with a jetpack, allowing you to fly through a post-apocalyptic lush open world.

At Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference, the game director Jon Warner presented a footage of Anthem’s gameplay where players take the role of exo suit-wearing freelancers in a mission to save a gang of fellow freelancers. The mission is seen unfolded through an exploration of a lush, jungle-like area located in the Anthem’s sci-fi open-world.

According to Warner, the world of Anthem is hostile and is filled with threats such as nasty creatures and alien enemies called “Scars.” In addition to these enemies, players will also have to survive the game’s dynamic weather events called “shaper storms.”

As stated earlier, in Anthem, you play as a freelancer who lives in a walled city that protects humanity. Your character will have your own exo-suit which you can fully customize and will help you fight robotic and alien-like enemies in a post-apocalyptic setting.

Bioware stated that the game was created to be used by developers as a reference for years to come. In Anthem, the players must live with the choices they make or die trying to change them.

Anthem has been rumored to be EA’s answer to Bungie and Activision’s Destiny. The game has been in development for several years under the name “Dylan.” Back then, EA CEO Andrew Wilson had already seen the game’s potential and described it as something “stunning.”

Anthem is said to be released in 2018 on XBox One, Playstation 4, and Microsoft Windows gaming PCs. And we couldn’t be more excited!
