Gearbox Studio kicked off the PAX East 2020 panel by announcing Borderlands 3 Steam release, which is set on March 13. And the best thing about Borderlands 3 is that it will feature crossplay between Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Borderlands 3 was first released last year exclusively on the Epic Games Store for gaming PC. It happened to be one of the major titles that were launched first on the Epic Games Store. And now, Gearbox’s latest Borderlands game will be launched on Steam.

With Borderlands 3 crossplay features, players will be able to play online co-op with their friends who downloaded the game via Epic Games Store. Plus, the game will come with an updated SHiFT system, which will allow players to manage their friend list regardless of the platform.

Gearbox also confirmed that not all crossplay features will be available on its release. One of these features is the weapon mailing, but the studio also confirmed that the crossplay features will be rolling out over the following weeks.

Borderlands 3 is the sequel to 2012’s Borderlands game and is the fourth main entry to the series franchise. Its plot revolves around the player’s goal to stop cult-leading twins, Troy and Tyreen Calypso, from harnessing the power of alien vaults that are spread throughout the galaxy.
