C9, Fnatic, 1907 Fenerbahçe, WE Advance in Worlds

In the past few weeks, 16 teams from around the world headed over to China to play in the play in group stages for the remaining 4 spots in the main Worlds event. The top two teams from each group advanced after the group stages to play against teams from other groups in a best of five to determine who made it on in Worlds. By the end, the four teams that advanced were Cloud 9, Fnatic, 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports, and Team World Elite. Cloud 9, Fnatic, and World Elite took down their opponents Lyon Gaming, Hong Kong Attitude, and Young Generation respectively, 3-0, to secure their spots in the main event. 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports struggled a bit with oNe eSports, but ultimately took them down 3-1 to advance also.

With the final four teams decided, the groups for Worlds 2017 were also finalized with Cloud 9 going into Group A, Fnatic to Group B, 1907 Fenerbahçe to Group C, and WE to Group D. The group stages will begin on Thursday, October 5, 2017 with Royal Never Give Up playing against 1907 Fenerbahçe continuing to Sunday.
