Classic Blade Runner to Be Remastered

Announcement released on remastering the classic blade runner.

Nightdive Studios announced that it is currently working on an enhanced version of the 1997 adventure game Blade Runner. The remastered version will be released for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later this year.

The 1997 Blade Runner game was originally developed by Westwood Studios, the developers behind Command and Conquer. Its story is set in the same cinematic universe and the same timeline but features different characters. The main character of the game is named Ray McCoy, who is a rookie blade runner.

During the past years, the Blade Runner video game was stuck in a legal rights battle but was finally released in 2019 on GOG.com.

In remastering the game, Nightdive Studio said that they will utilize its KEX game engine to restore Blade Runner for the modern system.

Blade Runner: Enhanced Version will also feature updated character models, animations, upscaled cutscenes, widescreen support, keyboard, and controller customization.

Nightdive Studio CEO Stephen Kick also said that they will preserve Westwood’s original vision and gameplay of the game.
