COD: Black Ops Cold War is announced to include the Zombies mode. The returning game mode will feature a new story and existing Zombies canon, cross-platform play, cross-generation, and Battle Pass integration.
According to Activision, the new Zombie map in the game is called Die Maschine. It will be a four co-op mode set in the early 80s and will feature the return of Grigori Weaver in the game. In this game mode, Weaver will lead his CIA-backed team, Requiem, to explore an abandoned World War 2 bunker.
The game mode will also introduce the Omega group, a Soviet rival, to study the area’s supernatural phenomenon and use it to their advantage. Between the two groups, there will be characters that can help or hinder your mission.
The developers also noted that this is the first time the Zombies Mode will have a cross-platform mode. It will also work across generations, keeping in mind the new Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. This means that all online players will play together regardless of the console they are using.
The mode will also contribute to the Battle Pass, similar to the Multiplayer and Warzone modes. Aside from that, it will add new tactical features as you progress. These will include field upgrades, weapon rarities, support equipment, lethal tactical, and no-limit perks.
Activision said that there will be a new Expil option. This will enable a squad to choose not to escape via helicopter by sending hordes of zombies. But upon selecting this, the team is entitled to get some rewards.
COD: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled to be released on November 13, 2020 on gaming PC and console. It will be the 6th installment in the Black Ops series. The game is set during the Cold War in the early 1980s. It follows the story of Russell Adler, a CIA officer who pursues an alleged Soviet spy named Perseus. The game is confirmed to include new game modes, new map dynamics, and elements.
