Paradox Interactive announces the first full expansion for its strategy RPG game, Crusader Kings 3. This time though, it will have a different direction from its predecessor. This new expansion has the title “Royal Court”, and it will add a new and full-screen throne room wherein the player can display treasures. In this throne room, the player can also interact with petitioners from across the kingdom.
The Royal Court expansion will also bring back the character inventory from Crusader Kings 2: Monks and Mystics. There will also be culture-specific weapons feature in the game that will show on your character and use in animated duels. Unlike the Crusader Kings 3: Northern Lords flavor pack, Paradox Interactive is going into a different reaction. They are taking the attention of the players off the map and placing them on characters and physical locations. This is a big departure from the usual M.O. from Paradox.
Aside from that, Kings and Emperors with feudal or clan governments will also have access to the Royal Court. While lowly Dukes, Counts, and Tribal Rulers will have content with painted 2D backgrounds before they become Players can also spend their money to increase the opulence of your court and increase the new statistic called Grandeur. This statistic will allow you to impress vassals and attract characters such as master smiths and famous poets. However, take note that the bigger your realm becomes, the more you should spend to maintain its appearance. Falling behind appearances can affect your vassal relations, prestige, and marriage prospects.
Players can also have access to several court types. You can also choose to focus on things such as learning and diplomacy. Investing in your court will also allow you to unlock different court offices, such as a royal food taster, to prevent any poisoning events. You will also be able to hire a court tutor who can help you learn new languages to interact with other kingdoms.
Crusader Kings 3 is an RPG and simulation strategy game that is set in the Middle Ages. It was released last year on September 1, 2020, for gaming PCs.
