One of the biggest CS:GO tournaments is right around the corner as summer draws to an end and the milder days of fall begin. New York’s Barclays Center will host ESL One from October 1 to October 2 as some of the world’s best teams battle it out to take home the largest portion of the $250,000 prize pool. The exact prize pool breakdown can be found here. Some of the attendants include, previous major winners, SK Gaming, the winners of the recent Dreamhack Bucharest, Virtus.pro, and the CIS superteam, Natus Vincere.

The CS:GO tournament officially starts on Friday, September 30 with the qualifying stages, but will be played behind closed doors on the first day. The groups will feature a unique Swiss format where a team must earn three wins to move on to the knockouts while three losses eliminates them from the tournament. Teams with the same win-loss record will be matched up against each other. The qualifying stages will carry over to October 1 with the semifinals and grand finals taking place on October 2. The full schedule can be found on the ESL One website here. It was just announced that the first match-ups of the tournament will be between Virtus.pro and Fnatic, G2 Esports and Astralis, SK Gaming and winner of the NA Qualifier, and Team Liquid against Natus Vincere.

The event will also have a Street Fighter V tournament with a 256 player open bracket tournament. The prize pool totals $75,000 for this tournament. More information is provided on the Street Figher V portion of ESL One’s website.
