Phoenix Labs fulfilled its promise for its upcoming action-fantasy RPG game Dauntless as it launched the game with full cross-play and cross-progression on PS4, Xbox One, and gaming PC. The game was launched on Epic Store last May 21 and was the first game to be released with this functionality for PS4.

In previous interviews, Phoenix Labs have always mentioned their goal of creating a “One Dauntless” for their upcoming game. The developers wanted their game for all players to be able to play together no matter what console they are using.

CEO and co-founder of Phoenix Labs Jesse Houston knew that it was one truly audacious goal. To begin with, no one has ever launched on console with full cross-play support. However, with the help of Epic Games, Microsoft, and Sony, all was made possible. As what they envisioned Dauntless to be, developers will work hard to keep the community connected as their top priority.

With its cross-play feature, Dauntless joins in with the likes of Fortnite and Rocket League as games that support full cross-play across its platforms. Dauntless is also the first game to be able to support it at launch.

Aside from its cross-play feature, Dauntless has also launched its newest Hunt Pass called the Hidden Blade. This new pass will allow players to transform the world of Dauntless for the Moon Blossom Festival. It also offers a large variety of thematic gear for players to flaunt their inner assassin.

For those who haven’t checked out Dauntless yet, it is a free-to-play action RPG game from Phoenix Labs and Epic Games. The game was initially launched in its beta state last year for Microsoft Windows. It was then fully released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PS4 on May 21, 2019, with full cross-play support.
