Dawn Engine, the cornerstone to the development of the new Deus Ex game

Eidos Interactive, was a British video game publisher, now operating as Square Enix Europe announced a new game engine that will be the foundation to the development of the their new projects at the studio, and it’s named as “Dawn Engine”.

According to Sacha Ramtohul, the Community Manager at Eidos-Montréal for DeusEx, the Dawn Engine™ is the new game engine designed exclusively for PCs and the new generation of consoles. And the reason for this new creation is because creative vision was somehow limited using the founded engines, thus the company  decided to invest in creating an engine tailored for the development’s needs.

Based on a heavily modified version of IO Interactive’s Glacier™ 2 engine, Eidos created this new engines to represent the beginning of a new era, with the goal to build upon and improve both the visual and immerse artistry in all Eidoes’ games, which also may help strengthening both the game play and storytelling experiences for players.

Below is a screenshot taken directly from the Dawn Engine. However, the company emphasized that this screenshot was only taken in order to display the level of detail and artistic fidelity that is possible with the Dawn Engine.
