Dead by Daylight’s Next-Gen Release

It is confirmed that the asymmetric horror video game, Dead by Daylight, will receive a visual overhaul ahead of its next-gen release during the holidays. It will also come with a series of free updates over the next year. The developers also confirmed that current-gen console owners will automatically receive a free upgrade to the game’s next-gen versions.

The update is called The Realm Beyond project, which will upgrade the Dead by Daylight on gaming PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia. It will come with free updates that will improve the game’s visuals, graphics, animation, lighting, and more.

Dead by Daylight next-gen update also means the on-going support for its introduction of crossplay. According to the update, it will bring more environmental elements in the Killing Grounds. It will also bring more realistic modeling and texturing for the characters, and new highlights for their established lore. There will also be thousands of assets that will be introduced, set to be enhanced as part of the game’s overhaul.

The developers also confirmed that these visual improvements will be added to the game every six weeks. And that each update will be in line with Dead by Daylight’s current content current roadmap.

As explained, these updates will arrive in service of building up to a Dead by Daylight experience for the next generation of consoles. These next-gen consoles include the upcoming PlayStation 5 from Sony and Xbox Series X from Microsoft, both of which will be launched during the Holiday 2020.

Coincidentally, the Dead by Daylight next-gen will arrive later this year, during the same launch window frame of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Players who own Dead by Daylight on the current generation consoles will be able to upgrade to the next-gen platform of their choice without any cost. They will also be able to keep all of their progression in the game.
