Video game company EA Dice confirmed that they will no longer release any major content expansions for Battlefield 5 after this year’s summer. This will then be followed by a new update scheduled to be released for gaming PC this June, as announced on the game’s official Twitter account.
To further explain the update, EA Dice posted on their blog that the new update this summer will follow the conclusion of Battlefield’s current chapter. This is the Into the Jungle chapter, which was themed around the Pacific Theater, and ended last April 29th.
The company also confirmed that the summer update won’t be a Chapter 7 expansion, but will instead serve as a standalone update. It will feature some new content, weapons, as well as game tweaks.
After this update, Battlefield 5 will be supported with new Weekly Missions, but will no longer be receiving any further major content expansions. Going forward, updates that will be released for the game will only focus on ensuring a healthy game performance.
Another update that will be released this summer is the Battlefield Currency, or Company Coin rewards. This will allow players to unlock past gears that they have not acquired before. Other community events will also be included in the game, such as the Friday Night Battlefield servers and Throwback Thursdays.
Other than those updates, EA Dice seems to be putting a conclusion to Battlefield 5.
