Eiyuden-Chronicles

The development team behind the cult classic RPG series, Suikoden, announces a Kickstarter for the game’s spiritual successor. The game is said to be titled Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

The developers explained that Eiyuden Chronicle will feature an RPG gameplay with a 2.5D visual style. It will allow players to recruit 100 heroes all rendered in their pixel-art form and feature a fortress building system underpinning the game’s story. Fans should also expect that the game’s drawing is heavily inspired by the style that won Suikoden its fans. However, fans should also expect a few modern twists for the game’s art style.

In Eiyuden Chronicle, battles will be turn-based with parties of six characters. There will also be boss battles where players can shift the camera angle depending on the environment.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will feature a story written by Yoshitaka Murayama, the same writer of Suikoden games. Direction, system design, and character design for Eiyuden will also be handled by other ex-Suikoden team members.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Kickstarter began last July 27. According to the developers, the Kickstarter page will run until August 28, with a funding goal of $500,000 for a gaming PC release.

The developers also confirmed that Eiyuden Chronicle may be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch, depending on the funding.
