Ubisoft finally announced the first post-launch DLC for Far Cry 5 titled “Hours of Darkness,” which is scheduled to be released on June 5. Hours of Darkness will take place in Vietnam during the war, a set-up that fans have been asking for some time now.
In the new DLC, players will take on the role of Hope County’s Wendell “Red” Redler, a character from the main campaign of Far Cry 5. The DLC campaign will follow Red on his mission to find, and rescue is squad members from hostile forces during the Vietnam War, fighting against the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army.

The campaign will Ubisoft confirmed that the DLC campaign is playable in single or online co-op. It will also feature new gear and abilities, and two different playable modes: Survivor Mode and Action Movie Mode. The modes are said to be unlocked after completing the DLC’s Survivor Mode which will feature a limited loadout and the over-the-top Action Movie Mode.
Hours of Darkness can be purchased as a standalone DLC or as a part of the Far Cry 5 Season Pass and Gold Edition. Ubisoft also hinted the fans of the game can look forward to two more DLC drops: Lost on Mars and Dead Living Zombies. These two DLCs will be released in July and August, individually.
In addition to that, players will have access to new Vietnam-themed assets in Far Cry Arcade. Map builders can also use these assets in their existing map or when creating new ones. All future DLCs will also include thematic assets which will be added to Far Cry Arcade for free.
Far Cry 5: Hours of Darkness will release June 5 on gaming PCs, PS4, and XBox One.
Its main campaign, Far Cry 5, was launched last March and is the first entry in the franchise to be set in America. The game puts the player s in the role of a new junior deputy in Montana who must stop a fanatical doomsday cult in spreading chaos.
