Fortnite Gets Visual Upgrade in Chapter 2 Season 7

Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite will be getting a visual upgrade for Chapter 2, Season 7. The studio announced that starting with the following season, they will bump up the visuals for Fortnite players playing the game on its max “Epic” graphic setting.

The studio further explains that when Fortnite’s Quality Presets is Epic, players will see new effects and postprocessing features. Some of these visual upgrades include the game’s improved storm and cloud effects and enhanced fire, explosion, and Slurp effects. The smoke and liquid simulations were also enhance to further improve the game’s visuals.

However, all these visual upgrades come with a cost. The PC requirements to run Fortnite on its maximum setting will also get a bump. And Epic Games has released the new requirements for Fortnite’s Epic settings, which are the following:

  • Nvidia GTX 1080, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, or equivalent GPU
  • Intel Core i7-8700, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, or equivalent
  • 4 GB VRAM or higher
  • 16 GB RAM or higher
  • NVMe Solid State Drive
  • Windows 10 64-bit

The recommended PC specifications also has an update. The recommended specs now required an Nvidia GTX 960, AMD R9 280, or equivalent DX11 GPU with 8GB RAM. Other players won’t have to worry, though, because the minimum and low specifications remain unchanged.

Aside from these visual upgrades, Epic Games has also stated its plans to move Fortnite in Unreal Engine 5 once the engine is fully built and released. This is great news to players who love to play video games in their maximum graphics setting.

Fortnite remains one of the most popular battle-royale video games online. It was first released in 2017 for Microsoft Windows gaming PC, macOS devices, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It was later ported for iOS and Android phones, as well as for Nintendo Switch.
