Fortnite is a Battle Royale game developed by Epic Games that has exploded in popularity recently. Unlike other games in the genre, Fortnite features a unique building aspect reminiscent of Minecraft’s style where players can gather materials and use it to build buildings. Just being good at shooting and aiming is not enough to be the best at the game.

Hop Rocks

With the coming of Season 4, Epic had the map hit by a meteor with several sites being targeted by the meteor’s debris. In the craters created by the meteor, players can find hop rocks which allow them to get a boosted jump as well as prevents them from taking fall damage. These hop rocks are an easy way to rush up on unsuspecting opponents and quickly take them out, and they also allow you to quickly take the high ground.

Weapon Swapping

Fortnite allows players to hold a total of 5 weapons which can be overwhelming for newer players. It is important to know which slots your weapons are currently in and what hotkeys will quickly take them out. In a chaotic fight, pulling out the right weapon for each situation as quickly as possible could be the difference between getting a kill or dying.

Make Sure to Have Materials

Building is one of the most important aspect of the game and having enough materials to sustain a long build battle is essential. While it may be tedious, hitting trees and large boulders for wood and stone is an effective way to gain materials quickly. Make sure to hit the circle once it appears after you start hitting something to do double damage to the structure and gather materials more quickly.
