Telltale Games is an American independent digital publisher revolves around episodic gaming and digital distribution, and it is best known for its various graphic adventure game series based on popular licensed properties. Notable titles by Telltale include adventure-game adaptations of Sam & Max, Homestar Runner, Monkey Island, the movie series’ Back to the Future and Jurassic Park, the comic book series’ The Walking Dead and Fables. And this time, Telltale is bringing the book series A Song of Ice and Fire to the video game platform.

According to Telltale, the game series is based on the world, characters and events seen in HBO’s TV show, which in turn is based on George R. R. Martin’s books (A Song of Ice and Fire).

In the game, players will play from five different viewpoints; all members of House Forrester. House Forrester is a noble house from the Wolfswood in the north of Westeros, who have always offered unswerving loyalty to the ruling great house of the North – the Starks. Although the Forresters have not appeared in HBO’s TV show, they are canon to the world created by George R. R. Martin, having appeared in the book ‘A Dance with Dragons’. Each character you play as is a member of House Forrester; either a direct family member, or a person in service to House Forrester. Scattered across Westeros and Essos, the characters play their part in seeking to save House Forrester from destruction.

Telltale, previously responsible for The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us among others, has a good track record of high-quality adventure games. Similarly, Games of Thrones is also an adventure game which offer a ‘tailored story’ meaning that the story you experience could be very different to someone else playing the game.
