Ubisoft has finally revealed Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the sequel to Wildlands. The video game company also announced that the game will not be available on Steam when it launches this coming October. Instead, it will be made available on Ubisoft’s own Uplay client and the Epic Games Store for Microsoft Windows gaming PC.

This doesn’t come off as a surprise, knowing that Ubisoft’s last two games, The Division 2 and Anno 1800, were not released via Steam. Both of these games were made available on Uplay and the Epic Games Store, which made it the only non-Ubisoft client where players can access the game.

At first, The Division 2 and Anno were both available on Steam during their pre-release. However, when Ubisoft arranged their new partnership with Epic Games, the two games were then fully released on the Epic Games Store instead.

When The Division 2 was launched on the Epic Games Store, Ubisoft said that additional select titles will be available on the Epic Games Store over the next year. It’s safe to say that one of these titles is no other than Ghost Recon Breakpoint. However, it is not yet clear whether Ubisoft will release all of their future games on Epic Games Store or just the selected ones.

Epic Games Store was created by Epic Games, developer of Fortnite, as a digital video game storefront to compete with Valve’s Steam. It was just launched last December 2018 and announced to the world its 12% revenue split compares to Steam’s 30% share. It also doesn’t impose digital rights management restrictions on games sold through its platform.

As of now, aside from Ubisoft, video game companies like Deep Silver, Private Division, and Quantic Dream have partnered with Epic Games Store to publish their subsequent games on the store.
