After the reveal teasers of Leo Whitefang and Nagoriyuki, Arc System Works finally confirmed that Guilty Gear Strive will launch on PlayStation 5 and gaming PC via Steam in Spring 2021. As previously reported, Guilty Gear Strive was first announced for PS4.

As part of the game’s teaser, Arc System Works revealed a showcased trailer of Leo Whitefang. He is a returning character who made his first debut in the series in Guilty Gear Xrd-Sign, which was released back in 2014.

According to his official character’s description, Leo is one of the three Allied Kings of the Allied Kingdom of Illyria. He is responsible for governing Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. He is an accomplished warrior with a relentless fighting style, wielding two greatswords.

Another character in the game was revealed named Nagoriyuki. He was introduced as a brand new character in the game. As seen from his pictures, he looks like a techno samurai vampire who wields a sword and dons a sci-fi white helmet.

In his official character description, the developers described Nagoriyuki as the newest addition to the Guilty Gear universe. He is a vampire that possesses several unique and powerful abilities. He uses a huge sword with impressive skills in a fight, slashing his foes with punishing blows.

Guilty Gear Strive was initially scheduled to be released in 2020. However, during the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, the game was slated for a 2021 release. According to its developers, Guilty Gear Strive is more of a reboot of the franchise. It will feature characters including Sol Badguy, May Faust, Ky Kiske, Chipp Zanuff, Potemkin, Millia Rage, Axl Low, and Zato-1.

Recently, a returning character in the game was revealed during IGN Expo. His name is Ramlethal Valentine, who specializes in mid-range combat and uses two large swords as his main weapons.
