Valve has finally announced that Half-Life: Alyx, the new Half-Life title for VR, is scheduled to launch on March 23, 2020.

Half-Life: Alyx is the first Half-Life video game that will be released for VR. It is set between the timelines of the first and second games.

The news was announced by Valve on its official Twitter account. They also confirmed that pre-order bonuses for fans who purchased Valve Index will begin to roll out on March 2. This includes the Steam VR Home inspired by the locations in Half-Life: Alyx.

Half-Life: Alyx was first announced in November, which marks Valve’s first return to the Half-Life series. The last Half-Life game was in 2007, which is Half-Life: Episode 2.

The best thing about Half-Life: Alyx is that it is a full-length Half-Life game that gamers have to play entirely in VR. The game is also available on all gaming PCs with VR headset.

In Half-Life: Alyx, the player takes control of Alyx Vance instead of Gordon Freeman. The game focuses on how Alyx works together with her father, Eli, as they organize the resistance, The Combine.

Half-Life: Alyx is developed using the Source 2 game engine, and will support mods. It also costs around $59.99.
